This September, virtually assemble your squad of family, friends or co-workers to move a minimum of 73 km while raising awareness and funds for the 2,000 families who can stay at RMH BC's 73 bedroom House and Family Room each year. No matter where you live, you can participate by moving in your favourite way!
At RMH BC, it costs $250 to house a family for just one night. By reaching the minimum $250 "Gift a Night" fundraising goal, you are helping to provide a night of comfort to families who are far from home.
Will you take the challenge and help us reach our goal to provide nights of comfort to families?

Families who stay at RMH BC come from over 200 different communities when they must unexpectedly travel to Vancouver for their child's urgent medical care.
When Gigha Roen was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2022, she had to trade her normal teenage life, with school, sports, band practice and friends, for doctor's appointments and chemotherapy sessions.
Gigha and her family stayed at RMH BC for over a year - 457 nights. What made it bearable for them was being able to come home to place like Ronald McDonald House at the end of the day, where their family could be together under one roof and they have a community of support.
Through programs like Family Meals, art therapy, gardening and out-trips, the Roen family found a sense of normalcy and joy while being far from home for so long. One thing that helped to keep their spirits up was making sure to take a take a daily walk - whether it be short or long - and taking a break in the fresh air.
Help raise awareness and funds for families like the Roens by taking the Step Up challenge this year.
